Filling a pool from a garden tap can take days and puts every other use in the house behind it. A tanker does it in loads, on a schedule, at a price agreed before we start.
Working out how much water your pool needs
Pool volume in litres is roughly length times width times average depth in metres, multiplied by 1,000. A pool 8m by 4m with an average depth of 1.5m holds about 48,000 litres. The same pool needing only the top 200mm replaced needs about 6,400 litres, which is a very different job.

Top-ups and full fills are different jobs
A top-up is what most pools need most of the time. Through September and October a Harare pool loses a genuinely surprising amount to evaporation, and a single 5,000 litre load at US$50 will usually bring the level back above the skimmer.
A full fill happens after the pool has been drained for repainting, retiling or repair. That is a multi-load job, it needs to be planned, and it is one of the few times a domestic property genuinely needs more than 5,000 litres in a day.
Practical points for a pool delivery
- Do not leave a pool standing empty longer than you have to. An empty shell can lift or crack, and your pool contractor will normally want it refilled promptly after work is done.
- Fill through a hose to the pool rather than a hard discharge onto the finish, particularly on new paint or plaster.
- For a large fill, run the pump and balance the chemistry once the level is up. We deliver the water, your pool service handles the chemistry.
- Check where a loaded tanker can stand relative to the pool. Many Harare pools sit behind the house and need a hose run.

Do you handle pool chemicals or balancing?
No. We deliver the water. Chemical balancing after a fill should be handled by your pool service or by you.
